Honda says it has no regrets about its decision to pull out of Formula 1 at the end of last year, despite seeing the Brawn GP team go on to capture both world championships.<br><br>The Japanese car maker felt that the worldwide financial crisis meant it could no longer continue funding an F1 programme, and it withdrew from the sport in early December.<br><br>That left the Brawn team facing a fight for survival, and it only made it onto the grid thanks to a financial injection from Honda.<br><br>Despite the fact that the withdrawal decision saved little money in the short term and failed to see it capitalise on Brawn's 2009 success, Honda's president and CEO Takanobu Ito insisted his company had still done the right thing.<br><br>Speaking to Autoweek, Ito said: "[I have] no regrets. After our withdrawal, we've seen our team doing extremely well. The reason why I say this is because of all the efforts we put into the team prior to our withdrawal that led to this result."<br><br>Ito believes the fact that Brawn has made a success of this season has actually made Honda's decision to quit easier to justify.<br><br>"Usually when we decide to withdraw our team from Formula 1 racing, there are fights and anguishes ... fortunately the team has succeeded. It has produced very good results, so people seem to be very happy which is quite unusual.<br><br>"Honda is very proud of the fact that we were able to make such a smooth withdrawal based on a very well-thought out plan.... I think we did very well with the withdrawal and after the withdrawal; we managed very quickly to inject all our resources into environmental technology development. [We are] very proud the management was so speedy in making this change."<br><br>Ito said the decision to withdraw from F1, made by his predecessor Takeo Fukui, was justified by the financial crisis and the environmental considerations that Honda needed to make.<br><br>"Just a year ago, Mr. Fakui made the decision to withdraw from Formula 1 racing and I think it was the correct decision," Ito said.<br><br>"We do love Formula 1 racing, but even more than that, we had to think about our company; following the [worldwide recession] our management environment had truly deteriorated, also due to the need to comply with environmental needs, [which meant] we had to develop new technologies. So this came first.<br><br>"I can surely say the few hundreds of people that were working on Formula 1 and the tens of billions of yen used for Formula 1, this has been converted to the development of environmental technologies."
The Monaco Grand Prix of 2010 has been moved forward by one week, GPUpdate.net has learned. The Brawn GP cars will be displaying the logos of the TNT energy drink at Interlagos next weekend after the Cervejaria Petrópolis brewery extended its deal with the Brackley team. The Brazilian company had already confirmed to run sponsorship of its beer, Itaipava, although the pact has now been increased in size.
With Canon Singapore having set up a one-race deal with Brawn for the night race in Marina Bay, Cervejaria Petrópolis agreed to run its Itaipava sponsorship for the São Paulo event but has now gone one step further to incorporate its TNT product into the deal.
TNT logos will be seen on the air intakes and rear wings of the two championship-leading cars as well as the rear wing endplates.
"We are delighted to have extended our partnership with Cervejaria Petrópolis to include their exciting new TNT Energy Drink brand," Team Principal Ross Brawn commented. "The Brazilian Grand Prix is always a fantastic occasion and, with the championships set to be decided over the final two races, Interlagos will be hosting a very exciting weekend."

The article says that the Brawn is more effective but the RBR may have more development potential<br>Most teams will sport the Red bull technology style front chassis, the loophole around the minimum dimensions of the footwell can be exploited to create more space between the front wheel and some beneficial suspension geometry. Brawn, Toyota and BMW have all tried the false panels to prove the concept works for the drivers view. I think the rest of the RBT design will be discarded for Brawns concepts the front wing endplates, the sidepods and the diffuser. That said, some teams may use the deeper rear wing endplates (Williams and Toyota already have)<br>鼻錐將會傾向RB5那樣的高鼻錐 雖然BGP001的樣式效率很好 但是RB5較有開發潛力)<br><br>The F60 is a difficult car to drive, and they want to fix this with suspension work and a different weight distribution<br>I doubt that difficulty to drive will be top of their list, the Ferrari grips well, Alonso's style matches that of Kimi and he hasn't struggled. KERS effect ton braking is believed to be problem suffered by Badoer\Fisichella, although their lack of time in the cockpit is the root cause. Any suspension changes will be aimed at the narrower front tyres and improving tyre warm up. Weight distribution will have to change anyway as the front tyres will be so much narrower, the 50/50% set ups of this years will be eased back for a less radical 46-48% front bias.<br>F60是一台很難駕馭的車 他們將修正懸吊設計以及更動重量分佈<br><br>The larger fuel tank will take advantage of the space currently devoted to the KERS.<br>This is true enough, the KERs battery sits below the fuel tank and the oiltank cutout will be smaller as the MGU won't be there. Still more space will be needed to package the fuel race fuel load. They haven't really explained how Ferrari will do this.<br><br><br>In order to improve weight distribution, the engine will be placed further back.<br>This is one obvious way to tackle the problem, but is detrimental to aero performance and weight distribution. I suspect the driver moving forwards is more likely, along with a wider\taller tank.<br><br>Small rotating dampers might be back, because they are small and may allow a larger diffuser.<br>They ay be correct, but not for that reason, the dampers are nowhere near the diffuser! Brawn have run rotary dampers with some success this year, they are easy to package, but have little effect on the aero profile. The bigger diffuser (and they will be big!) will need slimmer gearbox and sump packaging, as well as a raised differential and rear impact structure

British Formula One driver Jenson Button is starting an aviation charter business.
The Japanese manufacturer Honda, for whom the 28-year-old races, revealed on Tuesday that Button is to be the first European buyer of its light business jet.
Honda said Button has ordered two of the twin-engine HondaJets, which reportedly come with a price-tag of $3.65m apiece.
They will apparently be delivered to European customers in 2012.
Honda on Thursday ruled out rescuing the financially embattled Super Aguri team.
After the expected backing of the Dubai-funded Magma Group fell through, team insiders on Wednesday said hopes would now turn not only to other prospective buyers, but also a bail-out by Bernie Ecclestone or Honda.
Super Aguri was founded ahead of the 2006 season with the assistance of Honda, the Japanese carmaker and formula one competitor that has supplied the team with cars, engines and technical and financial support.
Honda is believed to have scaled back its support in recent months, and Super Aguri is reportedly now just days away from closing its doors.
"We intend to continue the present structure of our support for Super Aguri," the Honda spokesman told the French news agency AFP.
He also denied reports that said Super Aguri had requested a financial rescue package in light of the failed Magma deal.
