i have driven my 99 camry crossing USA.
almost everyday 600-1300 km in 60 days. it is still ok. and no problem ..very reliable...don't worry

check ur 手冊, u have to 換三檔 at suitable speed.maybe over 20 or 30 km/hr.

in my opinon,if the tires r ok,that is >3mm.
and less than 4-8 years, u can still use them.
i always use 2 new tires in front for 3-4 years(still >3mm),then use them in rear for next 3-4 years.
so i can always use new tires in front.the front tires r more important than the rear ones.

i do not think u have to prepare the gas.
just fill ur car up when u see any gas station. do not worry about that. i went to central mountains many times.tw is small.
even when drive around USA for 72 days.
